The Bowie/Crofton Area Holistic Community formed in September 1997, when a group of holistic health practitioners met for the first time over dinner and agreed to provide weekly seminars for the public. Initially, seminars were held at a restaurant. In 1998, the group moved to the Bowie Borders Books and Music and we have offered weekly seminars there ever since. We also sponsor an annual holistic health expo to educate the public about alternative and complementary healing modalities. . . and have special events for holistic practitioners to meet each other and socialize.
Our community consists of holistic health practitioners, business owners, and members of the general public. Our purpose is to encourage sharing of information and to enhance a sense of community among those interested in holistic health. We neither debate the pros and cons of different healing modalities, nor do we attempt to persuade or sell products or services. Ours is a simple desire to share information and experiences, and to promote the integration of all healing modalities to further health and well-being.
The Bowie/Crofton Area Holistic Community is a program of the Community Educational Networks, Inc., a nonprofit organization created to encourage and support the formation of community-based educational networks that provide programs to enhance knowledge, personal growth and development, and positive interactions among people with common interests. |
